New Kasabian record: I like it when things sound like other things

I imagine this track from the new Kasabian record is supposed to be  riffing off of some mystical Eastern musical mode, because they're a very serious band, and everything is a travesty with these guys or what have you, but as a person with questionable taste, I prefer to think they were actually going for something a little more like this.

It was hard to top the original, but I think they pulled it off.

True, when you come for the queen, you better not miss.

Luke, why don't you just let the music play?

Woh. This whole time the answer was in front of me all along. I feel like the dude out of the footprints in the sand thing.

OK, I'm back from listening to this album all day and it's pretty damn good. Steals a shit load of melodies from all over the place, but it works.

Do they steal from Oasis at all? That would be pretty meta. Or ironic. Or maybe I don't know what either of those words means.

They only steal from Oasis if you're counting their entire career. But other than that,no. Aside form the eastern-mystical-Beatles stuff, and all of Noel's forays into the break beat shit in the 90s. Kasabian the band is pretty much "Setting Sun" by Chemical Brothers with Noel on vox innit? Which makes them awesome.

Sounds like Kula Shaker. They should have been bigger.
