The single worst song of the 1980s

This song came on the radio at the gym yesterday, and it inspired me to start thinking about nominees for the worst song of the entire decade. I soon realized I was already listening to it, so it was a pretty quick game all things considered. This went to #12 in the US and #2 in the UK boitoidoibs.

Kind of a coincidental song to come on, theme-wise, considering fat boy is what I call myself over and over again while I'm working out/crying in the mirror at the gym. Either that or Al Jardine.

Miss you already time-when-ugly-people-could-have-hit-records.

What's your pick for the worst song of the 1980s? I would like for you to share that information with me.

I keep going back and forth between who came out looking worse in this fiasco. On the one hand, the Beach Boys had a lot more to lose...

I nominate a little number called "We Didn't Start the Fire." Wikipedia tells me that it was released in September, 1989, meaning that it was about 4 months from being the worst song of the 1990s.

I think that song, while awful, isn't quite as bad since obviously it has stuck itself in all of our brains forever. That's saying something. This one here, on the other hand, was mercifully forgotten. Untill now.

I don't want to get too OFF TOPIC, but are the rumors true that Gavin is pulling the plug on street carnage, man?

This is pretty good if you just listen to it without watching it.
