“I wish I grew up in the early 90s, when rap was good”

Sergeant D of Stuff You Will Hate remembers how the 90's really were. I'll just add, imagine how bummed homeboy here would be when he checked in to Back in the Day and realized he had to actually use the Postal Service to deliver a handwritten letter complaining about rap to an imaginary zine called Stuff You Will Hate that wouldn't be published for like seven months?

Anon sent me the following Tumblr message about a comment on :
“I’m 14 years old, and even I know the message Blaq Poet is trying to send. This video has 71 thousand views. Fireman by Lil Wayne has 26 million views. My generation is terrible. I wish I grew up in the mid to early 90′s.”
Is this type of shit the most infuriating thing ever or what? “I’m only x years old, but I GET IT.”
raeg/10.
Like anon, the “I’m only x years old, but I GET IT” thing also makes me rage hard as fuck. I would love to see this dumb little kid actually get his wish to be magically transported back to the early 90s, just so I could see the look of horror on his face when he realizes that Vanilla Ice, C&C Music Factory, and Kriss Kross were 5 zillion times more popular than DAS EFX, Ultramagnetic MCs, Leaders Of The New School, etc.

Imagine him stepping out of his time machine into 1992 and seeing Another Bad Creation at the top of the charts **

Dude would be so bummed when he stepped out of that time machine and realized in order to get in touch with your bros you just sort of had to hope to bump into them again at some point.

Early 90s rap was better. Vanilla Ice and that shit was on the pop charts. The rap oriented shows had nothing but classic golden era shit, and a number of gifted guys did make it huge.

Also, pretty much every other genre of music was better then, including the pop shit like C&C.
