This is the most American thing I have ever seen.
Happy birthday to Kurt Cobain! To celebrate let's take a look back at why he killed himself.
For almost two decades now music fans have been trying to figure out exactly why Kurt Cobain killed himself. Was the pressure of Nirvana's success too much to handle? Was it his crippling stomach pain or subsequent heroin addiction that did him in? We thought we'd never know.

This video above finally puts the mystery to rest. Cobain saw this coming. He took a look at the direction his band was heading in and somehow he just knew that twenty years down the line a bro at the State Fair would be blasting out mad pushups in front of a giant machine gun at the Army recruiter tent while "Smells Like Teen Spirit" played in the background, and he was like "fuuuckkk that, I'm ghost." Kind of a good call, all things considered. (Or maybe he knew a kid who looked like this would quote him in a yearbook photo?)
"This is at the Deerfield fair in NH," my man Jason, who took the video, explained. "I didn't do the best job shooting the video, but it sort of blew my mind that they were like using aggressive rock, machine guns, trucks and dude showing off his pushup skills to recruit people. I guess I thought that was the cliche rather than the real thing. Turns out it's both. I didn't dare get anywhere near the dudes who were doing the recruiting. Also, this tent was like four tents over from the boy scouts tent. Oof. America. Probably should have stuck around to see if 'Born in the USA' and 'Fortunate Son' came up on the playlist"

A denial. A denial. A denial.
Digging the Teddy Bruschi cameo too.
How many push-ups did Sarge end up doing?
I dunno, but I could do waaaayyy more.
If you want a vision of the future, imagine a soldier doing pushups on your song's face. - forever.
State Fairs, where America goes to die in a field of horse shit.

Funny, but I honestly think you have captured a small truth of his motivation.
