The following is a 100% fascinating and edifying conversation between hip-hop expert and legendary Worcester, MA emcee Kid Nice aka Mint E. Fresh and me, Jake Zavracky, regarding bad rappers:
Jake Zavracky: I'm in a diner and they're playing the Red Hot Chili Peppers's cover of "Rollercoaster of Love."1 Is Anthony Kiedis' rap in this the worst of all time?
Mint E. Fresh: Yes, actually, it is. Worse than the guy from Faith No More or MC Scat Cat. What an offensive group of people.
Jake Zavracky: Personally I love Mike Patton.
Mint E. Fresh: Not as a rapper you don't.
Jake Zavracky: That's probably true. What about the rap in Michael Jackson's "Black or White"
Mint E. Fresh: I can't remember "Black or White." Was it MJ rapping?
Jake Zavracky: No it was some over-sanitized sounding Disney-ready rap. The rest of the song was cool. Explain who MC Scat Cat is.
Mint E. Fresh: This is MC Scat Cat.
Jake Zavracky: I find the name MC Scat Cat to be far more infuriating than the actual rap. Who do you think is the worst famous rapper ever?
Mint E. Fresh: Freedom Williams2. In addition, I won’t say they stink, but I will say that I do not understand at all the allegations that Tupac or Jay Z or Nas are potential “Greatest Of All Time” emcees. Tupac was more celeb than emcee, Jay Z has no charisma that I can detect and Nas is about as boring as a rice cake smothered in air-gravy.

Mint E. Fresh: LL Cool J had less than a dozen awesome joints, but the original version of "Rock The Bells" is easily the most amazing display of bboy illness ever put on wax. LL was 17 and basically burnt New York to the ground with 7 minutes of ferocious raps over a spare-but-banging drum machine. And rocking the best joint of all time puts you in the top 5 automatic-like, so regardless of what he is, LL makes it."

Unfortunately MC Scat Cat never got a chance to follow up on his initial promise. Waste of potential.
Pretty sick of these end of the world jokes by now.
Much to my husband's chagrin, I insist Biz Markie be placed in the worst category. No MC should have a lisp, ever. He's got some fresh rhymes but that Novocain speech impediment is wickity wack.
