I heard this song by the Fat Creeps on one of the last editions of Boston Accents on WFNX last night and it stayed in my head throughout the whole first half of the Celtics game, even when it looked like they were going to throw another one down the shitter. It's part surf rock, part lo-fi crush-gaze and 100% full of #9tz.
A few weeks ago, WFNX program director Paul Driscoll was giving an interview to a local news crew when he quipped that the final days of the alt-rock radio station would be like an "Irish wake." Here in the world of BOSTON ACCENTS, we're taking that attitude out of the Lynn studio and into the Allston clubs. The final show is slated to air on Sunday July 15 (with an all-night sleepover theme where all are invited to hang out with us), and the following week we go out in motherfucking style with three nights of rock and roll at Great Scott in Allston.
New track from Blood Diamonds featuring Grimes yo. Thought it might b relevant 2 yr interests.
Swedeny electro-pop from Smile. Want to run fast. It's cold out.
The brainchildren behind two of Sweden's most beloved musical projects have combined to form one artistic force, the result being an infectious pop revolution. Smile is the collaboration of Björn Yttling, world-renowned writer, producer and bassist of international indie-pop powerhouse Peter Bjorn and John, and Joakim Åhlund of bear-masked electro outfit Teddybears. The duo is excited to announce the May 29th release of their debut LP, A Flash in the Night, as the first artist album from the Swedish artist collective, Ingrid.
For fans of the Weeknd and that new r&b shit. We fight we fuck we laugh we fight we fuck. That about covers it doesn't it?
A fresh new output of R&B has been hitting the airwaves as of late, thanks to our northern neighbors across the border. Executive producer ILLANGELO recently launched his newest collaboration with Toronto's TALWST releasing "Alien Tentacle Sex" May 22, 2012.
The album offers a luxe blend of complex arrangements and elements of tribal African rhythms layered beneath sinister synths and debauched lyricism. Inspired by bridging together the foreign and familiar, the album laments the rawness of post-midnight romance - track "I'd Die" tells a brazen tale of lustful desperation, with searing atmospheric blends and rattling rhythm samples, while the destitute ballad "No Stones" exposes the emotional underbelly that threads together the album's core concept in a signature #SoTall style.
