I don't want to die. Please don't make me die

via Alt Press

Alt Press does this weekly slideshow where they post pictures from various bands' Twitters, and it's fun because you get to see, like, the guy from All Time Low eating a vegan hot dog or whatever. Just like us! But this picture right here from the kid in something called I See Stars hanging out with Mike Dirnt from Green Day...jesusfuckingchrist. Dude is 38. If there's a better illustration of rock and roll before and after, and a starker reminder that the scythe is poised just above our necks, then I haven't seen it. This is literally the most depressing thing I've seen all week, and that's coming from a guy who waited in line at a Dunkin Donuts in the Massachusetts suburbs today behind a pregnant townie ordering a large ice, half coffee, half cream, seven sugars, light on the ice.

Look at that fresh-faced little handsome punk. He has no idea what's coming does he?

Fuck. Dirnt looks like the old vampire Russell from the last season of True Blood. And that guy was supposed to be like 500 years old or something.

I used to valet with a 35 year-old alt/punk rocker, warped tour regular. I was 21 at the time and he always used to tell us warped tour stories. I once asked him why the hell he was valeting as opposed to touring and fucking mad hos. He responded with "all of us have girlfriends now man".

On a sidenote: I wiki'd 'I See Stars' and the band is collaborating with Bizzy Bone this year...Bizzy Bone!! Shouldn't aged punk/alt/rebel rockers/rappers call it quits at 35? (being mad generous on that one)

Bone Thugs And Harmony are on Sumerian now (no, I have no idea how this happened either), which is the same label as I See Stars. Hence the collabos between Bizzy Bone and artists who are either on Sumerian or managed by Ash (who is the owner or Sumerian and a management company).

Also, the kids in ISS are like 18 or 19 so I'm sure they think that's the coolest fucking thing in the world.
