Just so everyone knows, Dwayne Carter Jr. was never, at any point, ever, the greatest rapper alive. He was never even the greatest syrup addicted rapper alive. (That honor goes to the late Pimp C.)
He is not the greatest anything. Disagree? You probably also think girls don't shit or fart. Also, you are white. And there is a good chance that you work for Rolling Stone or Blender (R.I.P.).
Quantity is not quality. That's why the phrase was invented, Weezy, so people like you wouldn't spew out inaudible mix tapes every hour of every day in between getting blown by Supahead, interviewing with Katie Couric and riding around on a segway with T-Pain while sipping lean out of a Styrofoam cup the whole time.
None of that qualifies you as one of the hip-hop greats. It actually just makes you one of the reasons why I want to quit music journalism. Remember when you shot yourself accidentally at the age of 14? I wish you had aimed a bit higher. Like, at your face.

music journalism.
dude,
you went to emerson,
you do not deserve to have any say in talking about rap,
....
I went there, but Emerson is on the List.
i enjoy the picture in the post
Kind of missed out on this dude's whole thing.
http://trapsntrunks.com/?p=2607
lil wayne's tracks on this album are fucking tight
I don't deserve to talk about rap? Andrew, you don't deserve to comment on blogs because you went to UMass Lowell and don't know how to finish a sentence.
hahahahaha
this is fun.
I goto BU for Biomedical AND Rocket engineering, I also know plenty of people who went to emerson, Including andrew jones. Even though Andrew is wrong about most things he is correct that people who go to emerson, save Adam Amhed; have no clue about rap or really anything.
But then again, who cares about lil wayne anyway?
But then again, i guess reading blogs and posting is almost as bad as going to emerson, so who am i to say anything...
but if it weren't for dwayne, how would i ever know that it ain't trickin if you got it?
isabelle probably knows some things about rap that shawn carter doesn't know.
isn't umass lowell kind of like a trade school?
I think the problem with this posting is that, like many posts on this blog, it appears that the poster was more concerned with appearing witty than saying anything of substance. This might be okay of the post was funny, but really it just comes off as snarky and overly caustic. Why does Lil Wayne actually suck? From reading this blog post, I have no idea. I have gained absolutely nothing from reading this. Some of the posts on this site are insightful or entertaining, this one's just poorly-backed-up hatin'.
put being earnest on the list.
Everybody guess what? This is a blog about hating on shit. Not an entry for Best Music Writing 2009. Please stop crying because I don't agree with you. You can resume listening to Tha Block is Hot now.
Also, if you are going to criticize my writing, please take the time to proofread your own.
Bye!
P.S.
I have a degree in black music studies and have been writing about R&B, soul and hip-hop for 5 years now, popinfresh0000 and Andrew Jones. I know a thing or two. Maybe even three.
what a hot button issue! (that i know absolutely nothing about but wanted to chime in anyway)
imagine caring about this mope?
Oh right, I did see this feller pretend to play guitar on the teevee one time.
never heard him
ahahahahaha!
Isabelle! Really hit a nerve on this one, didn't you sugar? I went to Emerson too!!!! Isn't that wonderful?
Why is Adam Ahmed the only person at Emerson who knows about rap? I had some poetry classes with him. Not a dig. Just wondering.
On the one hand, I like the traffic. On the other, so many Emerson grads in one place is giving me flashbacks.
Ahmed is the mang.
so . . . i went to umass boston, which is a smidge better than umass lowell (or am i fooling myself?). so therefore my opinion is slightly more right than that person who went to umass lowell but less right than the person who went to emerson. is this correct? its all very important because lil wayne is a crucial issue in my life.
well I went to Holy Cross and Emerson, which makes me smarter than everyone so far, and better in most ways. But also implies I know the absolute least about hip hop.
Talking about where you went to college anytime after you get your first job is On the List though.
I love Isabelle and Adam, but especially proofreading.
I also hate lots and lots of shit--probably even Lil Wayne.
As you were.
P.S. I went to Emerson and BU. Assess accordingly.
Yo, I read BOTH of Karrine Steffans books which means I know more about rappers than any of you combined including Usher's dick literally smells like shit. Also, Bill Maher's packin'.
Do my eyes deceive me or is Lil Wayne wearing an undershirt under an undershirt?
Good lookin Deb...anyway as a DJ I know a lot. That being said you (haters) probably know less than me especially about the black arts. My beats are sick (literally). My beats are ill (physically). Getting heated about Weezy F and colleges is whack-a-doodle-do. You're all in the wrong (W.F. Baby and myself included).
Yours Truly,
DJ HIV
The best shit to ever come out of New Orleans was Juvenile, followed by Master P. All of you are fucking stupid. No one even listened to Cash Money Weezy, when he actually mattered. Andrew Jones just dick rides because Wayne did a duet with Robin Thicke. Oh and because he went to U Mass Lowell, that too. Hey how was Eminem's "Relapse"? Hahaha
